Websites are a lot of fun for me. I absolutely love the creative process of building something new, beautiful, and effective for good people doing important work. Seeing the nonprofits, associations, and labor unions I’ve worked with dramatically improve their online presence and do more good work is the reason why I continue to build and grow Tallacala.
I stumbled into web design and development back in 2006, being assigned the job of updating my local Democratic Executive Committee’s (DEC) ancient Drupal 4 website. I picked up a couple of books and taught myself how to build websites. The rest is history.
In 2008, as a junior at the University of Florida, I was hired to be Progress Florida‘s first digital director. For 13 years, I did just about everything you could think of in the digital realm: email campaigns, digital advertising, social media marketing, and of course, websites. I did this work not only for Progress Florida, but often for allied organizations too.
I started Tallacala Digital (Tallahassee + Ocala, the two places I’ve called home and made me who I am) in 2018 to do freelance web development for a few select clients. I loved the work at Progress Florida, but a combination of shifting interests and wanting to strike out on my own and focus my talents exclusively on websites led me to take Tallacala Digital full-time in 2022.
Today, Tallacala Digital focuses on website design, development, hosting, and support for non-profits, trade associations, advocacy groups, and labor unions. I’m proud of the work I’ve done so far, and would love the opportunity to add you and your organization to my growing list of happy clients.
I look forward to meeting and talking with you and/or your team soon!
PS: When I’m not building websites and spending time with my family, I’m pursuing my other passion, which is real estate. I’m a licensed Florida real estate agent based in Tallahassee, and I buy and sell vacant land throughout Florida.
